Military & Overseas Electors
Military and Overseas electors may register to vote electronically up to 8:00 pm (MDT) on election night. Please logon to sosmt.gov/elections/military-overseas/, for complete details regarding the Montana Electronic Absentee System (EAS). Note: the EAS is for voters covered under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizen Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) only. A user must affirm their eligibility under this Federal Law before using the system, under penalty of perjury.
Federal Post Card Application
Completing and returning the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to the county election office is the best way for a UOCAVA voter to register to vote. The FPCA is good for every election that is held in the year that it is received, plus the next 2 regularly scheduled Federal Elections. Please be sure to contact your Election Department whenever there is a change of address. The FPCA can also be returned to county election offices by email, fax, and mail. Member of the military can also obtain an FPCA from their Voting Assistance Officer. Civilian overseas voters can obtain an FPCA from any U.S. embassy or consulate.

Voting Criteria
To vote in Lincoln County, you must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years old, or older, on, or before, the next election
- A citizen of the United States
- Have lived in Lincoln County, MT for at least 30 days
- Registered to vote as required by law
You cannot vote if:
- You are currently a convicted felon serving a sentence in a penal institution
- Have been judged in a court of law to be of unsound mind
*Pursuant to a September 2022 court order, an elector may register or change the elector’s voter registration information after the close of regular registration as provided in 13-2-301 and vote in the election if the election administrator in the county where the elector resides receives and verifies the elector’s voter registration information prior to the close of the polls on election day.
