Public Libraries
Lincoln County Library has been working to empower and enrich the lives of the citizens of Lincoln County for 100 years! What began as a small private library operated by the Libby Woman’s Club became the official county library on July 9, 1920 when the County Commissioners established the library for the benefit of all Lincoln County residents.
Shortly after the Libby library opened, branch libraries were opened in Troy (1922) and Eureka (1923). From their beginnings, the libraries have been popular with the residents of Lincoln County. With today’s population of approximately 19,052 people, 9,260 are library card holders.
