Fireman Memorial Park:
Libby Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Park was created in 1965 as a lasting memorial to the volunteer firemen who provided fire protection to the Libby community.  The members of the Libby Volunteer Fire Department originally maintained it.

Home to the Libby Area Chamber of Commerce and the Volunteer Fireman’s Tribute Monument which marks 100 years of continuous service, Fireman’s Memorial Park has two picnic pavilions, a playground which includes a splash pad, and camping facilities for tents and RVs. There is also an RV dump station.

Camping is $10.00 per site per night with a limit of five nights. Water and electricity are not available at individual campsites. There are no facilities for baths.  Use of the RV dump facility is by donation.

To reserve the pavilions for family and group events call Libby City Hall at 293-2731. Fireman Park is located on Highway 2 at Mahoney Road and is adjacent to the City of Libby cemetery.

Riverfront Park:
Located on the south bank of the Kootenai River and Highway 37, Riverfront Park’s most notable feature is the Fred Brown log pavilion built by local Amish and community volunteers.  Two boat ramps provide river access for fishing and recreation.  A smaller pavilion honors loved ones lost to asbestos- related diseases. Both pavilions offer great views of both the Kootenai River and the Cabinet Mountains.

The park is located on the site of W.R. Grace’s former export operations and is part of the larger Environmental Protection Agency superfund cleanup. It has been cleaned of asbestos contamination left behind following the plant closure and demolition and is presently under construction by the EPA and the City to create a public park with the entire available 13 acres.

The Fred Brown pavilion can be reserved for special events such as weddings. See Utility Billing for more information.

Softball/Legion Baseball Fields:
Baseball and softball are popular summer sports for kids of all ages.  Libby’s Little League program plays on a four- field complex developed on City- owned property adjacent to the City of Libby cemetery. The American Legion sponsored Libby Loggers home field is on Second Street and California Avenue (Highway 37).  Legion Field is rated one of the top playing fields in the state of Montana.

Tennis Courts:
U Serve Libby owns a six court tennis complex near City Hall on East Spruce.  The new courts are used by the Libby High School tennis teams and are also open to the public.  There is no charge to use the courts.
