Recreational Projects
The Lincoln County Road Department not only maintains the roads for normal travel, but we also develop recreational roads for access to some of the greatest places to enjoy in Lincoln County!
Below are some of our latest projects.
Snowshoe Trail
Lincoln County is developing plans to turn the historic Old Snowshoe Road into a non-motorized trail. The first phase will start on the Deep Creek Road near the Kessler place and go south about 6+ miles to the Leigh Lake Road junction on the Cherry Creek Road and will later extend to the Libby Creek Road near Ramsey Creek. The second phase will go back and tie in with the Flower Creek ski trails, then on to Parmenter creek.
The Old Snowshoe road was petitioned to be a County road in 1892 and used to reach the mines in the Bear Creek and Libby Creek drainage.
