County Courts
The court system in Lincoln County consists of District Court and Justice Court.
District Court
The District Courts are courts of general jurisdiction and process all felony cases, all probate cases, most civil cases at law and in equity, certain special actions and proceedings, all civil actions that may result in a finding against the state for the payment of money, naturalization proceedings, various writs, and some narrowly-defined ballot issues.

Justice Court
Justice Court is the judicial branch of County government responsible for processing misdemeanor criminal offenses, traffic offenses and Fish and Game violations occurring in Lincoln County. It is also the court where most people arrested for felony offenses will make their initial appearance and have bail set. Justice Court also handles civil cases, small claims, landlord tenant issues and orders of protection.
