Juvenile Detention

The Lincoln County Juvenile Detention Facility is located in Troy, Montana (anchor link to Address and map). The eight (8) bed long term youth detention facility is licensed by the Montana Department of Corrections. The staff of the facility undergoes ongoing training and strives to provide the best possible care, welfare, safety and security for all youth detention residents.

Juvenile Visitation & Phone Privileges

Juveniles in the detention center are limited to contact with Parents, Legal Guardians, Grandparents, Clergy and Case Related Personnel which can include Probation/Parole Officers, Lawyers and Counselors.

Juvenile Visitation Hours:

Youth are allowed a thirty (30) minute visit between the hours of 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

Phone Calls:

Youth are allowed two (2) phone calls per day, incoming and/or outgoing, for a maximum of ten (10) minutes per phone call, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
*Phone calls made to or received from case related personnel are not limited and do not affect the two (2) – ten (10) minute calls per day that youth are allowed.

The facility will provide postage for two letters per week for outgoing correspondence.

*All mail is subject to the following specifications:All incoming mail must be sent via USPS.
Personal mail will be opened and checked for security reasons.
All legal mail (i.e. mail from lawyers) will be afforded full confidentiality.

Directions

Traveling west on Highway 2, turn right on 3rd street and go three blocks to East Kootenai Avenue. Troy Juvenile Detention is located in the City Hall building.
After 5:00 p.m. and on weekends, call (406) 295-0806 for admittance to the facility.
